Referrals

Responses to inquiries from governments, industries and other parties in a timely, efficient manner is the goal of the Stz’uminus Referrals Coordinator.

When someone has a proposal for land use or development within Stz’uminus traditional territory, governments have an obligation to consult and accommodate our Aboriginal title and interest if those interests are impacted in a negative fashion. Our Referrals Coordinator deals with the letters of notification the governments exchange between departments, ministries and agencies.

Our referrals section will also coordinate GIS mapping of resource harvesting and sites of cultural importance to Stz’uminus

This department is also in the process of developing in house expertise in the identification of archeology sites or culturally used areas within Stz’uminus traditional territory.
