    Stz’uminus First Nation is seeking-

    Casual Home Maker -on Call 

    Stz’uminus First Nation is seeking a casual Home Maker for Health Centre clients residing on all Stz’uminus First Nation reservations. The Homemaker works with the other members of the Home care team to provide care to elders, disabled and others so they can continue to live in their homes. This care includes activities identified as a result of nursing client assessments that will help meet the needs of the client. This may include providing meals, cleaning and other housekeeping functions, and performance of other duties as directed by the supervisor.


    ➢ Minimum of Grade 12 education
    ➢ Formal training and / or education in the Janitorial and / or Cooking industries an asset➢ Education in a related field
    ➢ WHMIS certificate
    ➢ Must have reliable transportation to and from Residence Homes


    • ➢  Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
    • ➢  Effective time management and good organizational skills
    • ➢  Residence in the Stz’uminus First Nation community and knowledge of local culture and language preferred
    • ➢  Must have knowledge of client assessment, proper home care techniques (house cleaning, meal preparation,

      personal hygiene)

    • ➢  Ability to follow schedules
    • ➢  Willing to successfully undergo a criminal records check


      ➢ Prepare meals and snacks for clients
      ➢ Perform household services essential to remaining at home
      ➢ Deliver services in an appropriate, caring and respectful manner and according to policies and procedures➢ Thoroughly complete appropriate records, time sheets and other documentation
      ➢ Attend and participate in scheduled orientation and in-service training and educational classes
      ➢ Respect clients’ personal property rights, maintaining clients’ right to privacy and confidentiality
      ➢ Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties and report all accidents and injuries
